Established in February of 1909, Grant County is named after President Ulysses S. Grant. Sunshine bathes the land in its warm glow for 300 days each year, making Grant County the ideal fun-in-the-sun vacation destination for year-round travelers.
With over 247,000 surfaces acres of water on or near Moses Lake, fishing is a favorite activity. The County also boasts some of the best upland bird and migratory waterfowl hunting in the country. You can camp and backpack some of the most beautiful country in the northwest. And for those of you who enjoy wine you will find a number of outstanding wineries around the county.
The town of Coulee Dam boasts a history rich in stories of the building of the mighty Grand Coulee Dam. From the well planned Engineer's Town to an entire section of Mason City that was moved to make way for the third powerhouse, Coulee Dam holds a vast treasure of information just waiting to be explored.
